A Message From Yatharth, Third-Year Computer Science Student
Dear Reader,
I’m a computer science student focused on building practical systems at the intersection of software engineering, machine learning, and embedded computing. Most of my experience has come through hackathons and independent projects, where I’ve focused on turning ideas into working systems rather than just studying them in theory.
I explored how natural language interfaces can improve how people interact with structured data by building an AI-assisted spreadsheet application. I also worked on a conversational AI system that simulates personality-driven interactions across different scenarios, which helped me understand challenges such as maintaining consistency and managing context in language models.
Alongside that work, I took a machine learning course this semester and completed a research project on prediction markets, which gave me more exposure to modeling, evaluation, and structured analysis.
Separately, I have developed an interest in embedded systems, particularly how software interacts with hardware constraints and real-world environments. That area appeals to me because it demands a different kind of engineering discipline: limited resources, timing constraints, and logic closer to the hardware.
At this point, I am mainly interested in gaining experience building production-oriented AI systems and understanding how they are engineered on real teams, especially how they are made reliable, scalable, and useful in practice.
Sincerely,
Yatharth Gohil
